Developmental Youth Academy
The main goals of young players are ball mastery, agility, coordination, and competitiveness. The Leg-A-Z Youth Academy is specifically designed to foster the development of the technical, tactical, physical and psychological components of the game.The Academy provides a variety of skill-building opportunities appropriate to the needs, experience and age of each young player. Players may compete on travel teams; those who are not yet eligible to play traveling soccer because of their age or skill level may compete on teams in recreational leagues, such as YSI. We accept players from 5 through 12 years of age.
Each player is responsible for attending practice throughout the full soccer year, not just when games are scheduled. Thus, the youth academy provides year-round enrichment training for young players even if they are not rostered to a Leg-A-Z soccer team.
Our technical director has a long track record of successfully teaching young and inexperienced players the necessary skills to master the ball and the game. Parents and young players interested in the academy may contact Basil Benjamin at 377-6088, khunum@legazsoccer.com .
